Your Family Documents are Important to Our History!

The Preservation Committee of The League is looking for photos and other documentation about historic buildings and places in Sonoma Valley. We will copy them to preserve the original records and if you do not want to release the originals we would definitely like to have copies. The League maintains an archive of historic documents and photos. We maintain the Cochran Binders which contain printed materials documenting the historic buildings and places in Sonoma Valley. The Cochran Binders are housed at The Heritage Center at Maysonnave House and are available for public viewing.
Your photos and other doucments will add to the existing archives of this wonderfully rich and historic Valley.
Please consider sharing them with us.

Cochran Binders/Historical Resources Survey

Do you live in an older home in Sonoma? Are you curious about your home's past? It could be listed in the Sonoma Valley Historical Resources Survey!
In 1978, with a grant from the County Landmarks Commission, the League began preparing the Sonoma Valley Historical Resources Survey under the auspices of the City and County of Sonoma. The survey is an inventory of historic properties and includes structures from Kenwood to the Carneros Region. Each survey document provides important information that identifies and describes the property including its past and present owners, physical appearance of the structure, and the historical or architectural significance of the site including people and events associated with it.
